Roof repair work has started at the Tybee Island Pier and is expected to be underway for several months. The pier will remain open to the public with scaffolded passageways constructed to funnel visitors into and out of the pier. At times, the access to the pier will be limited and some areas will be cordoned off for safety. Stairs from the pavilion down to the beach will be blocked for safety precautions.
