This year’s theme of the 5th annual Coastal Scholars Showcase at the College of Coastal Georgia is “Practices in Student and Community Engagement.” The showcase, set to take place on Friday, February 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Southeast Georgia Conference Center, will highlight the impressive variety of scholarships that the faculty and staff of the College are engaged in.
The showcase serves as an opportunity for faculty and staff to share their research, scholarship, and creative works with colleagues, students, and community members. From pedagogy to poetry, the Coastal Scholars Showcase will bring together different perspectives on various aspects of teaching and learning—both on campus and in the community.
The showcase is organized by the Faculty Development Committee and is chaired by Assistant Professor of English Dr. Anelise Haukaas. Haukaas shared what she is most looking forward to about this year’s showcase.
“I am most excited about the variety of timely topics that our presenters are addressing—like the rise of artificial intelligence and how it affects education,” Haukaas said.
The showcase will feature presentations on a variety of topics, such as creative thinking methods, mental health, mathematics, high impact practices, literature, education in the metaverse, and more.
The community is welcome to attend the showcase and participate in meaningful conversations with the presenters and other attendees.
