Mask Mandate Suspended

Mask

Effective Jan. 30, the mandatory use of face masks in all medical and dental facilities serving the Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield community is suspended. This change is based on reduced transmission rates for COVID-19 on Fort Stewart, Hunter Army Airfield, and the surrounding communities.

Although the mask is optional for staff and beneficiaries, masks are recommended for individuals at a higher risk of infection and mandatory for individuals with symptoms of upper respiratory illness such as a cough, fever, or sore throat.

Community members are encouraged to help mitigate the threat of COVID-19 by avoiding large crowds, maintaining personal space, and maintaining good hygiene practices such as frequent hand washing and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

This policy will be reviewed periodically and may change based on the community COVID-19 infection rates.  Thank you for your patience and support.
