Grant selected as Executive Director for Advancement/Communications

Savannah Technical College has selected Robert Grant as its Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and Communications. He is responsible for administration, development and initiatives for both advancement and communications including internal and external development programs. He will manage development priorities through the Savannah Technical College Foundation and work closely with donors to enhance College initiatives and workforce development opportunities.

He was raised in a military family and had the privilege of growing up all over the world. He graduated from Clemson University with a degree in secondary education and history. He has spent his whole career in some facet of education.  He started as a high school social studies teacher and then found his way to the nonprofit sector in Development at Junior Achievement of Georgia. He then made the move to higher education as the Director of Development at the Parker College of Business at Georgia Southern University. 

Robert has lived in Effingham County for almost 20 years where he served as a school board member and on the boards of many nonprofits in the Coastal Empire.  He is a graduate of Leadership Effingham and Leadership Southeast Georgia and a member of the Savannah Downtown Rotary Club. Hobbies include just about anything outdoors, kayaking, swimming, biking, and walking. He and his wife Elizabeth live in Guyton with their five children. 

Founded in 1984, the Savannah Technical College Foundation is a private, nonprofit organization that exists to raise and disburse funds to support the College’s efforts to enhance learning, workforce training and economic development in Bryan, Chatham, Effingham and Liberty counties. The Foundation also supports student success through its many privately funded scholarships.
