Tis the season of giving, and with that in mind, Christina Lowery donated 50 Mary Kay packages to the Southeast Georgia Health System Cancer Care Center in St. Marys. Her generous donation will be distributed to the Health System’s cancer patients to help brighten their day during the holidays.
“I chose to work with Dr. Brantley for this donation because he is an amazing doctor and treated me like family when he performed my surgery 12 years ago,” says Lowery. “He held my newborn daughter during my stay in the hospital when I needed surgery and has kept in contact with my family ever since.”
According to Lowery’s personal experience at the Health System, Brantley cared for her as a person, not just as a patient. “When my family lost everything during Hurricane Irma, Dr. Brantley advocated for us, spreading the word that my family needed help. He has a heart of gold and is very passionate about breast cancer awareness, which made me want to give back.”
Lowery is also very passionate about breast cancer awareness. Her grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and growing up, her family participated in Relay for Life events in her honor. “This donation to the Health System’s Cancer Care Center will continue my efforts to honor her memory since her passing,” says Lowery.
