John Myers Named Interim County Administrator

At their November 1, 2022, regular meeting, the Camden County Board of Commissioners voted to name County Attorney John Myers as Interim County Administrator. The vote occurred following the Executive Session on personnel matters. Mr. Myers will begin the interim role on November 15, 2022. 

“I appreciate the trust of the Board of Commissioners as we continue to work together during this transition,” said Myers. “This will hopefully be a very brief temporary duty and I look forward to assisting our excellent county staff maintain their high level of service to the citizens and visitors of Camden County.”

Mr. Myers began his tenure as County Attorney in March 2014 and currently serves as a county representative to the St. Marys River Management Committee. He and his wife Rhonda reside in St. Marys and are the proud parents of two adult sons.

At the same meeting, the Board of Commissioners voted to engage the services of Colin Baenziger & Associates (CB&A) to lead the search for the next County Administrator. CB&A has over 20 years of experience with executive searches for local governments. 

After 15 years of service to the citizens of Camden County, County Administrator Steve Howard is taking a new role as County Administrator of Citrus County, Florida.
