WHAT:      Mock Crash Extrication

WHEN:     10/26/2022 from 8:30AM – 10:00AM; Alternate Weather Date on 10/29/2022; Practice Walkthrough on 10/12/22 from 2:30PM – 4:30PM

WHERE:     Camden County High School

A public safety accident response exercise is planned for October 26 at Camden County High School. This drill is scheduled to simulate a major-accident with injuries and ensure emergency assets can safely arrive on scene and respond effectively. Notification will occur at approximately 8:30AM and first responders will immediately head to the location where the course of the exercise will play out.

“It’s important for everyone to participate in the exercise as an incident like this has the potential to happen at any time,” said Kingsland Mayor Grayson Day. “Being better prepared as a result of what we learn from an exercise can potentially save lives should one ever take place.”

This public safety demonstration will begin at 8:30AM and last approximately 1 hour in length. Please be advised that this could be very visually disturbing to the public with all the ems, fire trucks, police, and rescue helicopter arriving on the scene to perform the drill. Students will play the parts of driver and passengers involved in a vehicle crash. Since this is an exercise and training event, residents and individuals near the area should not call 911.

This is a joint public safety drill encompassing several emergency response agencies. Besides Camden County High School, other participants will include the City of Kingsland Police and Fire Departments, Camden County Sheriff’s Office, Camden County Fire Rescue, Georgia State Patrol and Trauma One Aeromedical Service.

All media inquiries and questions/concerns by the public should be directed to Courtney Ray, Camden County School Communications Coordinator, at 912-729-8351 or cray@camden.k12.ga.us.
