The Camden County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce the recent achievement of certifications by members of MainPoint Health & Wellness, Human Resources, and the Planning & Development Department in addition to a recognition for a member of the Finance & Budget Department.
“Employees continue to be Camden County’s greatest asset and we are extremely proud of their accomplishments,” said County Administrator Steve Howard. “These certifications and recognitions demonstrate the quality and dedication of Camden County employees in continuing their pursuit of professional development.”
MainPoint Health & Wellness Director of Health Services, Cindy Popa received a Master Certificate in Leadership as a part of the National Association of Counties (NACo) High Performance Leadership Academy (HPLA). NACo’s HPLA was created to equip frontline county government professionals with practical leadership skills to deliver results for counties and communities. With a robust curriculum developed by the Professional Development Academy in partnership with Fortune 1000 executives, public sector leaders, world-renowned academics and thought leaders, HPLA was designed specifically for the unique challenges and opportunities of serving in county government. Mrs. Popa has worked for Camden County since December 2018.
Human Resources Generalist Amy Peeples received a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI). The PHR certification emphasizes a practitioner's operational responsibilities for the organization’s HR department. This certification demonstrates mastery of the technical and operational aspects of HR management. Mrs. Peeples began working for Camden County in June 2019.
Building Inspector Ernest “Petie” Kemp received a Residential Combination Inspector Certificate from the International Code Council (ICC). ICC is the leading global source of model codes and standards and building safety solutions that include product evaluation, accreditation, technology, training, and certification. The Code Council's codes, standards, and solutions are used to ensure safe, affordable, and sustainable communities and buildings worldwide. Mr. Kemp joined the Planning & Development Department as the Building Inspector in July 2020.
Accountant II Tiffanie Cheng received a scholarship from the Georgia Government Finance Officers Association to complete her Level I Finance Officer Certification through the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government. These courses cover topics that are pertinent to finance practitioners at all levels of government. This scholarship is valued at nearly $2,450. Mrs. Cheng began working for Camden County in January 2022.
