Take Action during National Preparedness Month

September is National Preparedness Month and Camden County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) urges all Camden County citizens to take time to prepare for natural disasters and emergencies. With the theme of “A Lasting Legacy,” the goal of National Preparedness Month is to increase the overall number of individuals, families, and communities that engage in preparedness actions at home, work, business, school, and places of worship.

“Taking the time to prepare now, will reduce the impact future disasters will have on our community,” said Camden County EMA Director Chuck White. “We want to encourage all local residents to plan and prepare for emergency situations and take proactive steps to ensure their safety and the safety of their families.”

This year, all Camden County residents are encouraged to:

  • Make a Plan;
  • Build a Kit;
  • Low-Cost, No-Cost Preparedness; and
  • Teach Youth About Preparedness.
Specific information and tips will be posted throughout the month on the Camden County EMA’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. Camden County residents looking for more information on how to prepare, plan and stay informed about natural and man-made disasters can visit www.camdencountyga.gov/ema or www.ready.gov.
