At their August 16, 2022, regular meeting the Camden County Board of Commissioners approved a Georgia EMS Association (GEMSA) Grant Award for $7,050.
This funding is provided by the Georgia Trauma Commission and Camden County Fire Rescue (CCFR) will use this resource for 18 firefighters to complete Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training.
“We are excited to receive this grant for EMT training,” said CCFR Chief Terry Smith. “This is an excellent opportunity for our firefighters to grow in their careers.”
The costs for the instructor, tuition, and books/education materials can be covered by this grant. CCFR is working towards all firefighters obtaining EMT-B certification by 2025. This class is open to all CCFR personnel.
