Chatham County issued the following announcement on May 12.
On Monday, May 16, 2022, construction of a box culvert will begin on Hily Avenue. Hily Avenue will be closed to through traffic at this location. Detour signs will be posted. The closure is scheduled to begin at 8 AM and will be in effect for up to 60 days. This road closure is associated with the Nottingham Canal Drainage Improvements project.
The attached a map shows the proposed work zone is shaded in green. The full length of Hily will be closed to through traffic, but local traffic will be allowed up to the point of construction for residential access.
