Southeast Georgia Health System issued the following announcement on Apr. 12.

Southeast Georgia Health System Volunteer Services recently announced Dorothy Hattaway as the Brunswick Campus Winter Volunteer of the Quarter and Lansie Manning as the Camden Campus Winter Volunteer of the Quarter.

Hattaway has volunteered with the Health System Guest Services/Wayfinding team for the past eight years. “Dorothy has done a tremendous job, especially with wayfinding assistance,” says Peggy Tuten, president, Brunswick Campus Volunteer Services.

“I enjoy helping people,” says Hattaway. “I appreciate the opportunities I have been given to assist visitors and helping our hospital team members as best I can.”

In her spare time, Hattaway enjoys serving meals at Manna House as well as crocheting and reading. She and husband, Donny, also enjoy doting on their two cats, Ladybug and Dash.

Manning has been a volunteer in the Camden Campus Emergency Care Center (ECC) since 2017. “Lansie has supported our ECC team members during many months of the pandemic,” states Kathleen Worthing, president, Camden Campus Volunteer Services. “She has been there to offer comfort and care to our patients and their family and friends.”

“One aspect I love about volunteering in the Emergency Care Center is that every day is different and there are so many opportunities to be helpful to patients and team members,” says Manning.

Manning loves to be moving. In her spare time, she enjoys line dancing, yoga, pickleball and exercise classes. When she’s not moving, she enjoys reading. Manning also volunteers at the Kiwanis Thrift Store and St. Marys United Methodist Church Share-A-Meal program.

More than 250 volunteers generously share their time and talents to assist patients, visitors, and team members at the Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick and Camden campuses, as well as the Senior Care Centers in Brunswick and St. Marys.
