Grant

Camden County - GA issued the following announcement on Feb. 23.

The Camden County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce that it is a recipient of Georgia County Internship Program (GCIP) funds from the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) and the ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation.

The $4,015.20 grant will assist in funding two interns for the Camden County Board of Commissioners during summer 2022. One intern will work in the County Clerk’s Office and Human Resources Department and a second intern will work in Public Works. Each intern will work on specific-projects during their internships.

“We are thrilled to once again partner with ACCG and the ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation to receive this grant,” said Camden County Grants Manager Julie Haigler. “These interns gain valuable job experience and Camden County residents benefit from their work.”

The GCIP offers internship experiences to undergraduate and graduate level college students in county government offices throughout the state. Since its creation in 2010, over 485 students have filled internship positions in 86 counties throughout the state through this program.

This is the seventh consecutive year that Camden County has received this funding. 22 interns have gained experience with Camden County through this program.

Undergraduate and graduate level college students are encouraged to apply. Specific information, including job descriptions and how to apply, will be available this Spring on the Camden County website, http://www.camdencountyga.gov/jobs.
