Southeast Georgia Health System issued the following announcement on Feb. 8.

Southeast Georgia Health System Volunteer Services recently announced Marilyn Krakowski as the Brunswick Campus Fall Volunteer of the Quarter and Sherelyn “Sherri” Wade as the Camden Campus Fall Volunteer of the Quarter.

Krakowski has volunteered in the Emergency Care Center (ECC) since she joined Volunteer Services in 2013. “Marilyn shares her positive attitude and kindness with patients, visitors and team members while she is volunteering,” says Peggy Tuten, president, Brunswick Campus Volunteer Services. “Through the years, she has volunteered with and without a partner volunteer during her shift in the ECC. During the months when she did not have a partner’s help, she kept showing up, working hard and giving her very best. She is very conscientious of her time; if she arrives a little late, she will work later to complete her four hour shift. She has also been a regular baker for our volunteer bake sales and makes delicious pecan muffins!”

Krakowski refined her customer service skills while working at the Jekyll Island Visitor Center. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering with Manna House and spending time with her son, daughter and two grandsons.

Wade has been a volunteer in the Camden Campus Gift Shop since 2019. “Sherri always has an upbeat attitude, a willingness to help wherever and whenever needed, and conveys so much joy when she’s volunteering,” states Kathleen Worthing, president, Camden Campus Volunteer Services.

“One of the aspects of volunteering that I really enjoy is all the wonderful people I have met with such interesting life stories,” Wade says. “It has enriched my life and has given me a deep appreciation for the many different people who volunteer at the Health System.”

In her spare time, Wade and her husband, Carl, enjoy traveling to visit their kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. She is also an avid book reader.

More than 250 volunteers generously share their time and talents to assist patients, visitors, and team members at the Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick and Camden campuses, as well as the Senior Care Centers in Brunswick and St. Marys.
