City of St. Mary's issued the following announcement on Dec. 14.
The City of St. Marys and the Camden County Board of Commissioners have partnered with the Coastal Regional Commission to provide all Camden residents with free transportation services. City of St. Marys officials are excited about this partnership and for the opportunity to provide no cost rides to the community. Citizens residing in the cities of St. Marys, Kingsland, and Woodbine as well as in unincorporated Camden County are eligible for these free services to ride anywhere within Camden County.
Services of the CRC transit program will remain in normal operation including hours of operation, scheduling and safety procedures. Riders requesting the on-demand, door-to-door services are required to give a 24-hour notice by calling 1-866-543-6744. When calling, ask to speak to Kwanjaklyn Johnson and she will schedule your trip. Any trip outside of Camden County will cost the rider $3.00 per one-way trip as normal.
City of St. Marys Mayor, John Morrissey, looks forward to the benefit of these services providing free access to health appointments and food security along with other essential services.
