The Brunswick boys basketball team is off to a hot start with a 3-0 record in the young season.
On Nov. 27, Brunswick hosted the Camden County Wildcats and won the first game of the season by a score of 65-50. Camden County went up early 13-10 after one quarter but Brunswick had a solid second quarter outscoring the Wildcats 18-7. The third quarter was fairly even with the Pirates outscoring the Wildcats 17-15 and Brunswick continued the pace, scoring 20 fourth-quarter points compared to 15 for the Wildcats.
On Nov. 30, the Pirates beat Woodsville-Tompkins 83-66. The Pirates came out firing with a 5-0 run, but Woodsville-Tompkins battled and held a 18-15 lead after one quarter. Woodsville-Tompkins also had a 34-32 after two quarters, but it was all Brunswick in the second half. Brunswick had a 27-14 advantage in the third quarter and finished strong, outscoring Woodsville-Tompkins 24-18 en route to the win.
On Dec. 4, Brunswick traveled to Camden County and picked up a non-region road win with a 55-46 victory. For the second game in a row the Pirates had to come back to take the win. Camden County had an 11-6 lead after one quarter and a 22-19 lead at the half. Once again Brunswick took over the third quarter, outscoring Camden County 20-6 and despite Camden County scoring two more points than the Pirates in the fourth quarter, Brunswick held on for the victory.
