Southeast Georgia Health System issued the following announcement on Nov. 22.

Due to the significant decrease of positive COVID-19 cases and transmission rates within our communities, hospital inpatient visitation will resume on Monday, November 22, 2021. This update allows for:

  • Visitors must enter through the Main Entrance (Brunswick and Camden campuses). (Maternity and pediatric visitors on the Brunswick Campus will enter through the Miriam & Hugh Nunnally Maternity Care Center entrance.)
  • Visitor hours: Daily, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. All visitors must be age 12 or older. Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Visitors may come and go without restriction.
  • Visitors will be screened before entry, including temperature assessment and completion of screening questions. Visitors must wear a face covering at all times, including when in patient room, and must perform hand hygiene upon entry to the unit.
  • Visitors should only visit the patient they are here to visit and should not go to other patient rooms.
  • Adult patients (non-COVID-19): Two visitors per patient at one time. Overnight visitation may be authorized on a case-by-case basis by the Nurse Leader.
  • COVID-19 patients: No visitors permitted.
  • ICU Patients: Two visitors per patient at one time. Visitation may be temporarily restricted due to patient care requirements.

A maximum of two visitors may be in the Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Post-Partum room for a vaginal delivery, and/or at the discretion of the physician. • Pediatric patients: Two designated visitors per patient at a time; one visitor may stay overnight. (Pediatric visitors on the Brunswick Campus will enter through the Miriam & Hugh Nunnally Maternity Care Center entrance.) A parent or responsible adult is requested to remain with the child at all times. The nursing staff must be notified when the parent or responsible adult is leaving and who the new parent/adult is that will be staying. Siblings may visit during visiting hours if older than 12 years of age. Siblings may not stay overnight.
  • Hospice and end-of-life patients: Immediate family members, no limit within reason.
  • Outpatient Areas: In all outpatient areas (including Emergency Care Centers, outpatient surgery), adult and pediatric patients may be accompanied by one support person for the length of the procedure or visit, except where capacity and/or patient acuity does not permit.
