Southeast Georgia Health System issued the following announcement on Oct. 1.
Due to the increase of positive COVID-19 cases within our communities, and in the interest of protecting our patients and team members, hospital inpatient visitation will be restricted, effective Friday, October 1, 2021, until further notice. This does not apply to the Senior Care Centers. This update allows for:
- Visitor hours: Daily, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. All visitors must be age 18 or older. Visitors may come and go but may not switch out with other visitors.
- Visitors will be screened before entry, including temperature assessment and completion of screening questions. Visitors must wear a face covering at all times, including when in patient room, and must perform hand hygiene upon entry to the unit.
- Adult patients (non-COVID-19): One visitor per patient per day. No overnight visitors.
- COVID-19 patients: No visitors permitted.
- Maternity patients: One visitor per patient per day; one visitor may stay overnight. (Maternity visitors on the Brunswick Campus will enter through the Miriam & Hugh Nunnally Maternity Care Center entrance.)
- Pediatric patients: Two designated visitors per patient for the duration of the hospital stay; one visitor may stay overnight. (Pediatric visitors on the Brunswick Campus will enter through the Miriam & Hugh Nunnally Maternity Care Center entrance.)
- Patients with Special Needs: Nurse managers may make exceptions to the “no overnight visitor” policy for adults; special consideration may be given for visitors who are essential for the patient’s physical or emotional well-being and care, and whose presence will be helpful.
- Hospice and end of life patients: Immediate family members, no limit within reason.
- Outpatient Areas: In all outpatient areas (including Emergency Care Center, outpatient surgery, ancillary services, Immediate Care Centers and physician practices), adult and pediatric patients may be accompanied by one support person for the length of the procedure or visit, except where capacity and/or patient acuity does not permit.
We acknowledge there may be extenuating circumstances which require exceptions to this temporary policy. If such a case were to arise, contact the House Manager at 912-466-7039.
Health System policies are subject to change based on COVID-19 impact on the Health System. Updated information on Southeast Georgia Health System’s response to coronavirus is available at sghs.org/coronavirus.
