Camden County - GA issued the following announcement on Sept. 15.
Camden County Administrator Steve Howard announces Sarah Long as the new Deputy CRS, E & S Coordinator. In this role, Ms. Long provides technical field investigation, review, and inspections relating to the areas of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and the Erosion and Sedimentation program.
“We are happy to welcome Sarah Long to the Camden County flood protection program team,” said County Administrator Steve Howard. “The level of expertise she brings to the position will proactively help the county undertake initiatives that will minimize the impact of flooding on our residents.”
Previously, Ms. Long worked for the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality and the Camden County Assessors Office and has over a decade of experience in compliance, inspections, permitting, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). She also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Virginia Tech.
Ms. Long joins CRS, E & S Coordinator, Scott Brazell in working on flood protection issues for the county, including participation in the NFIP’s Community Rating System (CRS) program. As part of their office’s work with this program, unincorporated Camden County residents have saved over $914,000 in flood insurance premiums from 2012 through 2020.
