County of Glynn issued the following announcement on Sept. 3.
On August 19, 2021, the Glynn County Board of Commissioners voted to name Jeffrey Chapman as the sole finalist for the vacant County Manager position. After receiving several draft contracts from the candidate, a diligent effort has been made to come to terms that would be both legal, and fair to Mr. Chapman, while keeping the best interest of the community in the forefront. Those negotiations have ended.
“As a Board, we are committed to finding the best candidate possible to be our next County Manager. It is unfortunate that we were unable to come to a mutual agreement with Mr. Chapman to assume that role, but I will say Jeff is a fine public servant and we wish him continued success as our Tax Commissioner”, said Chairman Wayne Neal.
The Board of Commissioners will continue to work with its consulting firm to locate an Interim County Manager as soon as possible. The search for a permanent County Manager is ongoing.
