CAMDEN COUNTY - GA: Take Action during National Preparedness Month

Mmt

Camden County - GA issued the following announcement on Aug. 30.

September is National Preparedness Month and Camden County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) urges all Camden County citizens to take time to prepare for natural disasters and emergencies. With the theme of “Prepare to Protect. Preparing for disasters is protecting everyone you love,” the goal of National Preparedness Month is to increase the overall number of individuals, families, and communities that engage in preparedness actions at home, work, business, school, and places of worship.

“This is an active hurricane season and we saw last week with Hurricane Ida how quickly a storm can form and have a devastating impact on a community,” said Camden County EMA Director Chuck White. “We want to encourage all Camden County residents to plan and prepare for emergency situations and take proactive steps to ensure your safety and the safety of your family.”

This year, all Camden County residents are encouraged to:

  • Make a Plan,
  • Build a Kit,
  • Low-Cost, No-Cost Preparedness, and
  • Teach Youth About Preparedness.
Specific information and tips will be posted throughout the month on the Camden County EMA’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. Camden County residents looking for more information on how to prepare, plan and stay informed about natural and man-made disasters can visit www.camdencountyga.gov/ema or www.ready.gov.
