Camden County - GA issued the following announcement on Aug. 5.
At their August 3, 2021, Regular Meeting the Camden County Board of Commissioners recognized the contribution of the Camden County Information Technology (IT) Department and Chief Information Officer Louis Foltzer for their part in receiving a 2021 Government to Government (G2G) Award from the Georgia Chapter of the Government Management Information Services (GMIS).
The Georgia GMIS chapter is a member of GMIS International. During their fall conference, the organization provides awards for outstanding professionals, Government to Citizens, Spirit of Georgia, and the Government to Government Awards. This year Camden County IT received recognition along with Liberty and McIntosh Counties and the Coastal Regional Commission (CRC) for their work on 911 data management.
The partnership received the Government to Government award for their collaborative economy of scale solution to Next Generation 911 data management. Through the development of the Southeast Georgia Regional Alliance for Spatial Solutions (SEGRASS), counties created a process for 911 data management. This process included creating an addressing manual and ordinance, a singular database for joint jurisdictions, and an adjusted workflow to ensure non-conforming data is not entered into the system. The system is currently in the final stages of implementation, with a web interface to be made available in the fall for protected jurisdictional editing.
“One of our greatest assets is our partnership with other communities,” said County Administrator Steve Howard. “We are pleased to receive this recognition for our part of the SEGRASS project and look forward to continued partnerships in the future.”
