Camden County - GA issued the following announcement on Aug. 6.
Camden County residents and visitors are urged to exercise caution on rain-soaked roadways. Parts of unincorporated Camden County have exceeded 6” of rain in the last 5 days and some unpaved roads are saturated as a result of the excessive rain with some areas receiving over 10” in the last 10-14 days.
Camden County Public Works is working throughout the weekend to inspect and repair effected roadways. Motor graders are actively working, but due to the widespread heavy rain, staff is prioritizing to treat the most impacted roads.
Residents and travelers are asked to limit travel on unpaved roads and exercise caution when driving in these areas. Please be aware that grading work may be taking place. Unincorporated Camden County residents are asked to call the Public Works office at 912-576-3028 to report roadways that are underwater.
At this time, no roads are closed. If a road is closed, information will be sent through the Notify Me section of the Camden County’s website. Users electing to receive “Road Closure” information in the “Alert Center” section will receive direct notification of a closed road.
