At their November 15, 2022, regular meeting, the Camden County Board of Commissioners voted to appoint Shawn M. Boatright, MPA, CPM, as Camden County Administrator. Mr. Boatright assumed the role on November 21, 2022. “Shawn’s outstanding service as Deputy County Administrator for the citizens of Camden County made him an excellent choice to return as County Administrator,” said Chairman Gary Blount. “I am thankful for the trust of the Board of Commissioners and look forward to continuing to build upon their vision and strategic efforts,” said County Administrator Shawn Boatright. “We have created an amazing team at Camden County and it is an honor to lead our staff on behalf of the Board of Commissioners.”Previously, Mr. Boatright served as Camden County’s Deputy County Administrator, Charlton County Administrator, and worked with the Southeast Georgia Joint Development Authority. He is a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran and serves as a trustee for the College of Coastal Georgia and as the Georgia City-County Management Association Coastal District Director. Mr. Boatright has a bachelor’s degree in Public Management from the College of Coastal Georgia and a Masters of Public Administration from Valdosta State University. Additionally, he holds the Certified Public Manager (CPM) designation through the University of Georgia’s Carl Vinson Institute of Government. He and his wife Chelsea reside in St. Marys and are expecting their first daughter.
