During the 2024-25 school year, Oglethorpe Point Elementary School counted 17 multiracial students on its roster, representing a 5.6% drop from the year before, data from the Georgia Department of Education show.
Records indicate the school’s total enrollment reached 439 students for the same period. Of these, multiracial students accounted for 4% of the population, making them the smallest student group present at the school.
The campus operates within the Glynn County School District, with the main Central Office located in Brunswick.
Within Glynn County School District’s 16 schools, Glynn Academy and Brunswick High School each reported the highest count of multiracial students in 2024-25, enrolling 73 apiece.
Statewide, public school enrollment in Georgia topped 1.7 million students, according to the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 findings. The largest segment attended elementary grades, totaling 787,206 (45.9%), followed by middle levels with 388,733 (22.7%) and high schools with 539,092 (31.4%).
Georgia continues to face elevated chronic absenteeism rates post-pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024, the Georgia Department of Education reports. Efforts such as a real-time attendance dashboard, new public awareness outreach, and additional help for districts with high needs were part of GaDOE’s targeted efforts to increase attendance.
In 2025, state legislators passed new measures on school attendance that prohibit expulsion solely based on absenteeism. The update also includes expanded data reporting and harmonizes with alternative approaches for students to earn their diplomas.
Reporting from 2026 shows Georgia schools averaged a student-to-teacher ratio of about 14:1, which compares favorably to the national mark of 15:1.
