McIntosh County issued the following announcement on Mar. 10. 

The 54th Annual Blessing of the Fleet on the beautiful, historic Darien Waterfront is set for April 1-3, 2022.  

Enjoy music, arts, crafts, fireworks, and food while celebrating the Darien, GA’s Historic and Beloved Shrimping Fleet!  

Festivities begin at 4:00 P.M Friday and concludes at 4:00 p.m. Sunday.

Watch as our local Fishermen parade their vessels down the Darien River to the Darien Bridge to receive blessings for a safe and prosperous shrimping season. Commercial Fishing continues to be the backbone of our great community, so please come out and show your support for this great cause.
