College of Coastal Georgia issued the following announcement on June 7. 

The College of Coastal Georgia’s Office of Academic Affairs is pleased to announce the awarding of tenure and/or promotion to 13 faculty members, effective in 2022-23. These faculty members are being recognized for their hard work and commitment to providing Coastal Georgia students with academic instruction, and mentoring, of the highest quality.

The following faculty member has been tenured and promoted to professor:

  • Dr. James Benton—Associate Professor to Professor of Accounting

The following faculty member has been tenured:

  • Tyler Bagwell—Associate Professor Communication

The following faculty members have been promoted to professor:

  • Dr. German Vargas—Associate Professor to Professor of Mathematics
  • Dr. Laura Lynch—Associate Professor to Professor of Mathematics
  • Dr. David Stasek—Associate Professor to Professor of Biology
  • Dr. Jim Fullerton—Associate Professor to Professor of Management
  • Dr. T. David Reese—Associate Professor to Professor of Finance and Economics

The following faculty members have been tenured and promoted to associate professor:

  • Aurora Pope—Assistant Professor to Associate Professor of Visual Art
  • Dr. Karen Lucas—Assistant Professor to Associate Professor of Mathematics Education
  • Dr. Roscoe Scarborough—Assistant Professor to Associate Professor of Sociology
  • Dr. Maryanne Sandberg—Assistant Professor to Associate Professor of Nursing
  • Dr. Melissa Trussell—Assistant Professor to Associate Professor of Economics
  • Dr. Tyra Warner—Assistant Professor to Associate Professor of Hospitality and Tourism
