Camden County High sees 56 Asian students enroll for 2024-25

During the 2024-25 school year, Camden County High enrolled 56 Asian students, an increase of 5.7% compared to the prior year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Total enrollment at Camden County High reached 2,819 students in the 2024-25 school year. Asian students composed 2% of the enrolled population, representing the smallest demographic group at the school.

The school operates within the Camden County School District, whose main administrative office is in Kingsland.

Out of 12 schools in the Camden County School District, Camden County High recorded the largest number of Asian students enrolled for 2024-25, totaling 56.

Over 1.7 million students attended public schools in Georgia, according to the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report. The majority were in elementary grades with 787,206 students (45.9%), followed by 388,733 in middle school (22.7%) and 539,092 in high school (31.4%).

Chronic absenteeism continues to impact Georgia schools after the pandemic, the Georgia Department of Education reported, with 20.7% of students missing 10% or more of school days in 2024. In response, the department launched a statewide effort featuring a real-time attendance dashboard, a public campaign, and targeted support for districts most affected to improve student attendance.

Legislation signed in 2025 revised school attendance laws and eliminated expulsion solely due to absenteeism. It also introduced new reporting standards and enhanced alignment with alternative diploma programs.

By 2026, Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio was about 14:1, better than the national average of 15:1.
