Brunswick High School registered 73 multiracial students for the 2024-25 school year, reflecting a 32.7% rise from the prior year, according to information from the Georgia Department of Education.
Official data indicated the school’s total enrollment stood at 1,836 students in 2024-25. Multiracial students accounted for 4% of this total, with only one other ethnic group comprising a smaller share of the student population.
The school is part of Glynn County School District, which has its central office based in Brunswick.
Within the 16 campuses that make up the district, Glynn Academy and Brunswick High School recorded the highest numbers of multiracial students in 2024-25, enrolling 73 multiracial students each.
Statewide, more than 1.7 million students attended Georgia public schools, as noted in the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report. Enrollment was greatest in elementary grades at 787,206 students (45.9%), followed by middle grades at 388,733 (22.7%), and high school at 539,092 (31.4%).
Chronic absenteeism continues to be a significant concern in Georgia following the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing 10% or more of school days in 2024, according to the Georgia Department of Education. In response, GaDOE initiated a statewide effort featuring a real-time attendance dashboard, an awareness campaign, and additional resources for districts needing support to improve student attendance.
Georgia lawmakers approved a measure in 2025 updating school attendance policies, which prohibits expulsion solely due to absenteeism. The new law also imposes added reporting standards and integrates with diploma programs offering alternative graduation paths.
Data for 2026 showed Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio was about 14:1, better than the U.S. average of 15:1.
