Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Feb. 18. 

The Chamber Foundation was the recipient of a $5,000 grant from the Okefenoke REMC. This grant will be used to support the Connect Glynn Educator Externship Academy. The Externship structured academy is designed for educators to observe and interact with local companies while gaining real world industry experience from several major employers in Glynn County. Educators build relationships with their peers at the workplace to build important relationships on which to link the classroom to the worksite.
